Stapler Hats

It's been more than a decade since my friends and I took on names from the Pokémon franchise. Kristie and I used to get into fun little spats about who got to go by the name "Ash." We attempted to settle this by purchasing our own exclusive Pokémon League hats from the local Spencer's. Whoever got theirs first would win.

We totally bought them at the same time. I ended up with the totally sweet nickname, though.

In hindsight, Kristie... You won. Seriously, Brock was the cooler character. I mean, he ended up with a Mudkip later in the show. A Mudkip!

IDK-my-BFF-Jenn was always "Misty." We tomboys didn't fight her for that one.

Little Lexi Dog Preliminary Composition

Last week, we lost a beloved family pet. Lexi, a golden retriever, was very loving and noble. She taught me, my brother, and my parents to take joy in the little things in life, and was always a handy friend when times were rough.

I'm looking though my photos and trying to come up with a good composition for an acrylic painting of her.

I've had my two lovely gerbils from Lee for about a month now. They're sisters, and their names are Cygnus and By-Tor. People keep misinterpreting Cygnus's name as "Sickness," however, and therefore I've taken to calling her "Cyg."

Moose Story

This morning, I had a close encounter with a moose on Route 9 near the Wells/South Berwick line. Those things are huge. Thank God moose have white asses; I wouldn't have seen it coming.

Also, note my utter confidence in drawing my car without a reference. Really. I'm great at this. Totally.
