It's been more than a decade since my friends and I took on names from the Pokémon franchise. Kristie and I used to get into fun little spats about who got to go by the name "Ash." We attempted to settle this by purchasing our own exclusive Pokémon League hats from the local Spencer's. Whoever got theirs first would win.
We totally bought them at the same time. I ended up with the totally sweet nickname, though.
In hindsight, Kristie... You won. Seriously, Brock was the cooler character. I mean, he ended up with a Mudkip later in the show. A Mudkip!
IDK-my-BFF-Jenn was always "Misty." We tomboys didn't fight her for that one.
